On January 18, in Kazan in the hall of the State Grand Concert named after Salih Saidashev was held a concert of Abkhazian musical duo – Luka Gadelia and Christina Eshba. They performed a concert in the framework of the project “Cultural Seasons Russia – Abkhazia.”
Concert of organist Luka Gadelia and soprano Christina Eshba was the final concert of the project “Cultural Seasons Russia – Abkhazia.” The concert program included works by J.S. Bach, G.Handel, Liszt, Ch. Widor’un, as well as works of Abkhazian composers. The concert was held with the support of the Ministries of Culture of Russia and Abkhazia.
This brilliant duo of talented Abkhazian artists Luka Gadelia and Christina Eshba has clearly made a name both in Russia and abroad. They have already successfully performed in the cathedrals of Rome, Oxford, Cambridge, Poole, Kintbury, Luxembourg, Brussels and Barcelona. Their programs always include Abkhazian national songs and organ adaptation of folk themes. Today each duettist is a bright creative individuality.
The concert was attended by a famous Abkhaz pianist and instructor Karlen Yavryan, as well as a leading Russian organist, rector of Kazan Conservatory Rubin Abdullin. The project “Cultural Seasons Russia-Abkhazia” was initiated by the Ministry of Culture of Russia and the Ministry of Culture of Abkhazia in 2010. Its main focus is the concert exchange, during which the best Russian artists and bands perform in Abkhazia and the Abkhazian best musicians perform in Russia. For 4 years, in the framework of the project were held more than 80 different events: symphonic concerts, organ music concerts, choral and contemporary music concerts, dance performances, theater and music performances as well as performances of singers and instrumentalists.
